Claims for "I Died for Beauty, but was Scarce" by Emily Dickinson Claim 1: The poem portrays the speaker as someone die for beauty, but did not fully see what it could become. In Line 1, the speaker died for beauty, but was scarce. Meaning a person can absolutely died for what he or she believes in. However, that specific person feels it was not complete.   Claim 2: The moss showed how easily something or somone can be taken away. In Lines 11-12, the moss covered the man and speaker lips and names. Because the speaker had advantages and felt it was lacking, the moss felt it was only right to lack forms of communication.
King Lear's Reflection  Of ACT 1 SCENE 2 and 3    Edmund supposedly receives a letter from Edgar. When Gloucester, the father, asked for the letter, Edmund is hestitant to give it to him. Not only because of what is in the letter, but to lure the father in part of his plan. Gloucester tells Edmund to find Edgar and change his thinking of killing him, which is not true. The two talk about astrology and it leads to their father. Edmund explaining to Edgar not to talk to their father because it will lead to more and more anger. Also stating Edgar should be armed and lay low just in case someone tries wto harm him. But Edmund is saying all this to Gloucester and Edgar for the plan to work. SCENE 3    Goneril, oldest daughter of Lear, asks Oswald, the steward, if her dad had hit on one of her attendants for warning his fool in a disrespectful way. Oswald says yes. Goneril replies back by saying she is annoyed by Lear's actions and how he critcizes on ev...
King Lear's Reflection of ACT 1 SCENE 1      King Lear is introduced and divides the kingdom into three parts to hide favoritism. Gloucester talks about his son, Edmund, in not such of a good way, but it was meant to be a joke. Just saying that it was too early for Edmund to come into the world. King Lear wants to know which one of his daughters' love him the most. Goneril goes first and is basically saying anything to get what King Lear is offering. Regan does the same thing. So Cordelia is the last one to speak and nothing. Cordelia feels like she does not have to express her love for her father if it is already shown. Lear disowns her and Kent gets involved. Kent is given 5 days to collect anything he needs to survive and on the sixth day, he should be leaving the kingdom.
Sonnet "Do Not Change Me For What You Cannot See" Do not change me for what you cannot see This is only the beginning; Wait for the end I am putting you under pressure closer to the heat If you leave right now, I will not hestitate to talk to other men Do you know you are? I can only take so many problems like Donald Trump Ask yourself, "How did I get this far?" Now you want to kiss up to me, should have mistaken you for a dump Why is your phone talking at and to me? Is there something that needs to be told? Might give up and take a plea Stand up and take the chance of a blindfold Me and the sidechick caught you in the act Run now or get smacked and that is a fact The theme is if a person can not see what one truly has, then do not try to chamge me. One can but see the person first for their trueself first. Lets name this person Amy and her lover, Jack. Fisrt Stanza describes how Amy is waiting for the end and seeing wh...

Analysis Of Psalm 121

From reading Psalm 121, the speaker gives none to little insight on what the song is really about. Being that if reader 1 does not know of the Bible versus reader 2 who does, yet, reader 1 can still have the same or different meaning as reader 2. Verse 1 explains how someone should what he or she is looking for. If the person knows, then he or she has already themaselves in a way. God made heaven and earth, therefore, He can do just about anything. So putting in effort to one being comfortable and confident, God will help those trusting him in Verse 2. The next verse is explaing God not letting anyone fall into temptation. One who does fall into the temptation suffer the consequences. Even though the other one did not fall still experience more desires and urges. The reasoning behind Verse 4 is a leader, not just of Israel, not sleeping because of leadership and its people. As a leader or keeper, that specific person fulfills his or her people needs, ideas, wants or not. Be...

Comparison and Contrast Of Infant Joy and Infant Sorrow

The poems of Infant Joy and Infant Sorrow have similiarities a normal reader cannot comprehend. The two babies are coming into a world where he or she does not understand, yet. The author uses characterization in both poems to describe its own. Meaning that Infant Joy experience glee and Infant Sorrow experience misery. In Infant Joy and Infant Sorrow, William Blake uses another literary device which is connotation. He connects Infant Sorrow to a society sometimes without morals, without meaning and without standards. Connecting Infant Joy to a society sometimes with righteousness, with morals, and intention to do good. These poems may have a story to tell with the comparison and saying Infant Joy was Infant Sorrow. In Lines 1 through 8 of Infant Sorrow, the baby is just coming into the world crying, screaming, and needing something to be calm. That is why in Line 1, Joy has no name and two days old. Because Joy does not remember and had no choice but to forget what was goin...
